Deborah Jones – Director
I became a member when the group first started, primarily to know what was happening as I lived close to the field. I soon became enthused by the plans the founder members had for the area. An opportunity to get involved in creating something special for the community of Donisthorpe, with what was otherwise, a piece of waste land.
As a lover of the outdoors, I understand the immense benefits from being outdoors and enjoying what nature has to offer.
In October 2022 I joined the team of directors. An opportunity to support the good work that had already been started. Hopefully, adding my experience and education in leadership and management, DofE leader, 5 years as school governor and chair of governors, and bringing this knowledge to the group. I have worked mainly in the fields of education, retail and currently I run an upholstery business with my husband. My focus is always on people, customer service and quality.
What I enjoy most of all, is getting stuck in on the land during our working party days and events; seeing the land physically develop month on month! Being relatively new to the village, it has provided a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and learn so much. I doubt I will ever be able to give as much as I get out of it.
